In the context of the Institute of Masters of Wine’s international Symposium, entitled ‘Living Wine’ which took place in Rioja, Spain, Bodegas Patrocinio welcomed several wine journalists and Masters of Wine. Among these, Matt Walls, who has been in the wine trade for 15 years and recently became Contributing Editor at Decanter; he also writes for other magazines including Foodism, and Harpers Wine & Spirit; Peter Dean, co-founder for the UK premium on-trade magazine The Buyer, which launched in 2016; he has also contributed to other key titles such as The Guardian and the UK wine and spirit trade magazine Harpers.
As well, Patrick Schmitt MW, editor-in-chief at The Drinks Business, called on us. Patrick also writes for, and manages, the European and Hong Kong editions of this publication and heads up the publication’s panel tastings such as the Rioja Panel Tasting which takes place every year for the magazine. Patrick became a Master of Wine in March 2015 and for the last two years, he has been shortlisted for editor of the year in the business and professional magazine category for the British Society of Magazine Editors.
