Ekaterinburg, some 1,400 kilometres from Moscow, was the city chosen to celebrate the first DOCa Rioja Salon. 34 wineries took part, including Bodegas Patrocinio through its two distributors for ZINIO and Sancho Garcés.
During the Salon, opinion leaders Alexandr Sidorov, Rioja wine educator; and Leonid Guelibterman, president of a food and wine centre, hosted a tasting of monovarietal wines native to the Rioja region, such as Tempranillo blanco, Maturana blanca, Graciano, Garnacha, Mazuelo and Maturana tinta, for sommeliers, importers, wine merchants, journalists, industry professionals and bloggers. They were joined by the president of the DOCa Regulatory Board, José María Daroca, and its general director, José Luis Lapuente.
